Sapphire Point

Overview: EASY, .6 Miles Round Trip, Elevation Gain ~ Insignificant, Trail #89

A short hike for beginners is Sapphire Point which offers a lovely lookout over Dillon Lake. The Sapphire Point trailhead is a quick drive from Keystone. It’s a good spot to stop for a picnic lunch, stretching your legs in between travel hours, or to watch the sunset over Lake Dillon.

A favorite Key to the Rockies tip is to bring your children to feed the chipmunks. Unsalted sunflower seeds or peanuts can be picked up at any gas station and will be eagerly accepted by our furry friends. Bring a lunch and spend an hour or so taking in the view and exploring the area.

The view is so spectacular and easily accessible that The Point is used frequently as a wedding ceremony site. Learn More
